crafties

here are a few things i've made in the past few weeks!

these cute little things can be used as broaches or as hair accessories!

a couple t-shirts i whipped up. :)

and some dresses! yay for dresses. they're the best.

cat take two

ok, so for someone who says they're not a cat person, i know i sure do take a lot of pictures of them...but i just think they're fun and pretty things to look at. sometimes.

i call this "halloween cat"
her teeth look so scary! she must be practicing for October 31st.

meow

one of my roommates, Kourtney, has two kitties. they are pretty cute. i wouldn't call myself a cat person, but i admit they are fun to look at. i'm allergic though so i can't get too close! but they were pretty laying on the bed so i couldn't help but take some pictures!

this is marble, the man of the house.

this is sapphire. she's old and doesn't do anything! she likes to hide and sleep. a lot. she was growling at me when i was taking her picture.

a walk down my street.

"He has made everything beautiful in His time." Ecclesiastes 3:11

i'm constantly blown away by the beauty of God's creation. His beauty is reflected in everything around us! today was one of those days that i just had to be outside. so i took a little walk with my camera down my street. these are some of the things i saw!

my favorite part of this walk, however, was meeting my neighbors, Claudie and Carol. they are the most precious little ladies i have ever met. they are both well into their 80's and are still as vibrant and lively as ever! their houses are right next to each other and after living in the same houses for over 50 years, Claudie and Carol have been best friends for quite some time now!

Carol's house is a gorgeous mint green color and when i saw them sitting on the porch in their rocking chairs with iced tea in hand, i couldn't help but ask if i could take their picture. they didn't like that idea too much, so i didn't get a photo, but i did get to sit there and talk with them for about thirty minutes. i'm so excited that i made some new friends today! they told me to come back and visit whenever i liked! i think i will take them up on that offer. maybe i can get some pictures next time.

i was inspired by these little lanterns hanging at my neighbor's house. so pretty!

gorgeous flowers in another neighbor's yard.

this little squirrel was trying to hide from me. he's so cute. this video my boyfriend found makes me want a pet squirrel. http://www.wimp.com/catsquirrel/

a view of my pretty street.

my house! i have lived here for three years with some awesome girls. its pretty darn cute i think.

excited for fall to be here!

things and things i like!

i found these awesome buttons at a city-wide garage sale in austin, tx this summer! they are oh so pretty and i can't wait to use them for something!

the prettiest mailbox i've ever seeeeeen! its at my boyfriend's house. i'm not sure a house full of messy boys should deserve something this cute.

just showing off my small collection of vintage dishes! some are from flea markets and some of them were passed down to me from my great-grandmother, Jewel Hart. cutest name ever. i'm pretty proud to have them in my possession. and those lovely fiesta-ware plates you see there were a steal of a deal at Charlie's Flea Market, which is not called Charlie's anymore, but i can't ever remember what its called now, so i still call it Charlie's. anyway, i bought them for a whopping $2 for all four of them! so exciting.

isaac's next door neighbors. lovely.

while we're at it, i'll go ahead and show you a little more of my room. i'm pretty proud of it! i painted this summer. the color is called sea-crest spray...not sure i'm a fan of the name but the color is pretty!

hope you enjoyed the "tour!"
today is a good day. i don't have anywhere i have to be! its such a nice feeling. so i thought i would take this opportunity to share with you some of my favorite things. recently, my boyfriend and i were shopping at Majestic Flea Market on Commercial St. and found this stinking sweet Pfaff sewing machine from the 1950's. and it works perfectly! i've tried it out a few times and i absolutely love it. its gonna be a good thing to have around. oh, did i mention that i only paid $12 for it? that makes it even better.

isn't it pretty? i managed to squeeze it into my little room between my bed and the window. its a perfect little work space.
